FLC Developers' Institute, June 18-21, 2008

Welcome Letter to Participants

We welcome you as a participant in our 2008 FLC Developers' Institute, Designing, Implementing, and Leading Faculty Learning Communities: Enhancing the Teaching-Learning Culture on Your Campus, June 18-21 at Claremont Graduate University. We intend to provide a knowledge and experiential foundation that will help you build an FLC program at your institution and work with colleagues to facilitate FLCs. Also, the Institute will be an opportunity to meet and collaborate with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines and institutions.

Please prepare the following assignments in advance of the institute:

We will have the FLC Program Director's and Facilitator's Handbook and the book, Building Faculty Learning Communities, as materials for you at the institute, included as part of your fee. If you already have these, after the conference we encourage you to share your duplicates with a colleague or your teaching center library.

If you have any questions, requests, comments or concerns, please contact Milt by email at the address below. We emphasize the importance of arriving at the opening meeting on the 18th on or before 5:00 p.m. because this event plays the key role in forming our home communities. We look forward to meeting you soon.
