New FLC Developers' Institute, June 21-23, 2006

Welcome Letter to Participants

We welcome you as a participant in our seventh annual New FLC Developers' Institute, Designing, Implementing, and Leading Faculty Learning Communities: Enhancing the Teaching-Learning Culture on Your Campus. We intend to provide a knowledge and experiential foundation that will help you build a faculty learning communities program at your institution. The Institute will be an exciting opportunity to meet and collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines, colleges, and universities.

We will e-mail you a pre-reading survey (due by June 7) and instructions to access 6 articles we would like you to read [after completing the survey, of course]. On this web site is the Institute schedule overview, a listing of the Institute’s learning objectives, and the pre-institute assignments which include materials to assemble to bring to the Institute. As part of your registration fee, you will receive your Program Director's and Facilitator's Handbook and the book, Building Faculty Learning Communities, at the institute. You are welcome to acquire and read these ahead of time; your Institute books can become resource materials for your colleagues or teaching center library.

If you have any questions, requests, comments, or concerns, please do feel free to contact us by email at the addresses below. We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,
