Our main Institute site is at the Claremont Graduate University, Academic Computing Building (ACB), Second Floor, Room 211. ACB is located on the corner of College Avenue & 8th Street, in Claremont, with a parking lot between the building and 8th Street. You can park without any permit or cost in the lot adjacent to ACB or on the street. Please do not park on the West side of College (across College from the building). You can enter the building from either the north or south; there are stairs and an elevator.
To get to CGU/ACB from the Claremont Inn: The Inn is just west of the corner of Foothill and Indian Hill (IH) Boulevards. Take IH south (away from the mountains) to 8th Street (about 5 blocks), turn left (east), pass Yale & Harvard Streets, cross College Avenue, turn left into the parking lot.
To get to CGU/ACB from the 210 Freeway: Take the Towne Avenue exit, go south (away from the mountains) to Foothill, turn left (east) on Foothill to Indian Hill, turn left on Indian Hill, then left on 8th Street, pass Yale & Harvard Streets, cross College Avenue, turn left into the parking lot.
To get to CGU/ACB from the 10 Freeway: Take the Indian Hill exit, go north (towards the mountains), cross the railroad tracks (1st street), go to 8th Street, turn right (east) on 8th Street, pass Yale & Harvard Streets, cross College Avenue, turn left into the parking lot.
We may experience the southern California "June Gloom," which means the sky is overcast with coastal fog all morning and sometimes through the afternoon. With "June Gloom" the temperature is around 70. The days the fog burns off early the temperature can be around 90. Wish I could tell you what it will be like next week, but...if I could I'd be out playing the horses...
You will have access to computers with Internet access on campus. All of the buildings we will use are wireless and you can log on your own laptop as a "guest" with no special password. Most rooms also have dsl connections.
If you have any questions about the locality, contact Laurie Richlin at laurie.richlin@cgu.edu. If you have questions about the Institute itself, contact Milt at coxmd@muohio.edu.
See you soon!
