18. The Literature

As indicated in the sequence of ten developmental steps, the literature, as in any discipline, is the foundation upon which teaching and learning rests. See the bibliography and references that have proven useful in working with FLCs, including focus books and articles for particular FLCs.


Appendix C

Focus Books for Miami Faculty Learning Communities

These books are given to the community members at their opening retreat. They read them over the summer or winter break. Opening seminars involve discussion of themes and issues raised in the focus book reading. These books provide important references to other works in the literature.
