Connecting the wires in the most effective places: The purpose of this resource is to generate a better understanding of electronic media and how our lives are shaped by it. The variety of electronic media available to the public at this time greatly surpass those of any other time. Without an education of how to effectively use the media, it is like plugging cords aimlessly into the above machines. Some connections could cause a computer melt-down, some connections could allow the computer to function, but the computer would function best if the cords were put in the right places. If our minds are like the computers, we do not want to ignorantly be plugging into electronic media with no idea of what the purpose of the source is, and what to do with it. Think of it as a course in how to plug things into the right places. I didn't even know that there were "plugs" before I started learning about all of this. Have fun, take a break if you get overwhelmed.

Educating in Today's Dynamic E-environment. Today there is a push for integrating electronic media into the classroom. Educators seem to be integrating any sort of medium blindly, with the idea that anything is better than straight-up text. Is it though?

Image Inundation - Using images wisely when teaching. Even "visual learners" cannot overcome the difficulties presented by poor image use in the classroom.

Changing Childhood - A look at the historical construction of education, and how it has changed over time. The internet has made the boundary between adulthood and childhood much more illusory.

Students learn in different ways, but all can use electronic media beneficially. What does this media do to us though?

The Identity Transfer. Our interaction with the internet changes us, whether we want to acknowledge that or not. It simply does. Before you sware to become a recluse, check this out, to see how you can generate an awareness about the impact of online interaction, and how that awareness can enable to you let the internet control you in a way that you have more control over.

How Online Transfers Our Identity. The impact of the internet on the external self.

How Identity is Transferred Online. The impact of the medium of the internet on the "self" located within the internet.
