The Internet and Identity

One of our favorite resources for news, entertainment and communication these days is the Internet. By using this form of information, what does it do to one's identity? First off, what is identity?

The truth is, one's identity is affected by the Internet- even in ways not completely obvious to users. The Internet changes how we write, how we think, how we act...it changes just about every aspect of our lives.

The links on the sidebar illustrate just how our lives and our identity is affected by the Internet. The "Information" link shows two versions of a news article- one written for the Internet, and the other is a print version. The "Deep Thoughts" link will bring you to a sample page from an online journal and shows the difference between online journaling and regular journaling. "Bush Dances!" illustrates how identity can be manipulated on the Internet. And finally, the "Who Are We?" link gives a summary of an article about an Internet community. It also provides links to addition reading.
