Libraries
King Library at Miami
Our collections include 2.7 million books, 110,000 maps, 26,000 sound recordings, 20,000 journals, magazines, and newspapers, thousands of movies, videos, and DVD's, and nearly three million pieces of microform. In addition, Miami Libraries is a member of the OhioLINK library consortium, entitling our clients to search for and request over 31 million library items statewide. Requested items can normally be picked up at the Miami library building of your choice within 3-5 days.
If you can't find what you're looking for from OhioLINK, our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) office can help to locate books and materials from across the U.S. and from countries all over the world.

Special Collections
The Walter Havighurst Special Collections Library at Miami University houses rare, unique, and valuable books, manuscripts and other research materials. Collections include:
- The 1841 Collection, extant books from the University's library in 1841
- The Samuel F. Covington Collection of 19th century Americana, focusing on the Old Northwest Territory and the Ohio River Valley
- The Edgar W. and Faith King Collection of Juvenile Literature
- The Special Collection, composed of a number of literary and subject collections including the William D. Howells Collection
- The Andre L. de Saint-Rat Collection of Russian History, Literature and Art
- The Vertical File Collection, a collection of rare materials ranging from original letters, photographs, articles, poems, documents and other ephemera
- The William Holmes McGuffey schoolbooks, a collection of 336 Readers ranging from Primer to Word List.
