Overview
The Department of English has over seventy full-time faculty on three campuses and many more faculty who teach on a limited or part-time basis or as graduate assistants or teaching associates. Members of the department teach not only in English but also in the American Studies, Black World Studies, Honors, Interactive Media Studies, and Women's Studies programs. All faculty take part in the department's ongoing conversations about the mission of the department, content of courses and strategies for effective course design and teaching. The faculty are supported by a very capable staff that helps them meet the needs of students.
