Effects of Urbanization on Native
Ecosystems
Summer 2002
In this cluster, students investigated the effects
of urbanization on native biodiversity and natural ecosystems.
While not a traditional area of ecological inquiry, ecologists
are increasingly turning their attention to the functioning of
human-dominated landscapes and, in particular, urban areas.
