William P. Berg, Ph.D.

Position:
Associate Professor

Scholarly Focus:
I focus on basic and applied questions concerning the control of human bipedal locomotion (walking and running). My interest in locomotion is driven by an appreciation for its importance to basic and advanced human functioning. Moreover, because of its remarkable flexibility, bipedal locomotion constitutes an ideal context in which to study links between perception and action. In particular, I investigate the role of visual perception in the control of walking and running, as well addressing allied questions concerning mobility and aging.
