Prospective students:
You may declare a pre-major while applying to Miami and/or when you arrive on campus for orientation and to register for courses.
Current students:
You may declare a pre-major at any time. Come to 106 Phillips Hall and complete a change of major form. You'll be assigned a faculty advisor who will provide information on what courses you must take to become a major and any other requirements. The change of major form can take up to 3 weeks to process, so plan ahead.
After your advisor has agreed that you have completed the pre-major courses and other criteria (some majors have grade-point-average requirements, mandatory essays, etc.), you can download an application, provide the requested information, and submit it to Anne Reed in 106 Phillips Hall.
Applications for changing from pre-major to major status can be found on myMiami's KNH blackboard site. Log into myMiami using your Miami username and password.
