Vita: Current

Scholarly Interests :

In my early years as a traditional researcher, I focused mostly on the relationships among intrinsic motivation, optimal inner experience, and physical activity. I then began functioning as a programming bridge (i.e., consultant) between the science of motivation and health and fitness practitioners and organizations. My present interests have evolved into exploring the intersecting dynamics of self-development, well-being, and performance across the lifespan via participatory, self-experimental, and story-telling methods. The work that has emerged from this more personally-fulfilling focus is an eclectic media combination of video, radio, and book products for people of all ages and, hopefully, breakthrough programs to healthy living that may be offered by such organizations as the YMCA.
