Assistantships

Each year, about five to eight FSW graduate studentsare awarded assistantships. Recipients received an annual stipend of about $10,428*. They also receive a tuition waiver and remission of the out-of-state tuition surcharge (if applicable). Graduate students who are awarded a FSW assistantship are assigned teaching responsibilities in the department or may be selected to work as research assistants. Assistantships may also be available from other offices and departments.
To be considered for an assistantship, submit the Application for Graduate Award found on the Graduate School website at the time you apply for admission.
*Stipend for 08-09 will not be announced until the university budget is approved; however, this stipend has always remained the same or increased from the previous year. This is only a guide and not a guarantee, however.
