Clinical Faculty/Assistant Professor: Teacher Education

Position: Teacher Education: Clinical/Professional Faculty or Assistant Professor
Duties: to teach introductory and advanced courses in second language acquisition, TESOL, and/or applied linguistics; advise students and provide service to the University. Additional duties of an Assistant Professor include conducting and publishing research in high-quality peer-reviewed professional publications.
Require: for appointment as Clinical/Professional Faculty: Masters in education in applied linguistics, second language acquisition, or closely related field; experience with TESOL; excellent communication skills in English; demonstrated expertise with contemporary instructional technologies; documentation of superior teaching ability; professional license or professional certificate/degree; knowledge of multicultural education or background in working with diverse student populations in P-12 or higher education. For appointment as Assistant Professor: Earned doctorate in applied linguistics, second language acquisition, or closely related field; experience with TESOL; excellent communication skills in English; demonstrated expertise with contemporary instructioanl technologies; knowledge of multicultural education or background in working with divese student populations in P-12 or higher education. (ABD candidates are encouraged to apply; doctorate must be completed by date of appointment.)
Desire: Prior experience with culturally and linguistically diverse students; proficiency in at least one foreign language, with preference for Asian language; experience in interdisciplinary teaching innovations; evidence of collaborative abilities. Desire for appointment as Assistant Professor: demonstrated evidence of effective higher education teaching, experience with infusion, grantsmanship, and research activity that indicates a potential for continuing systematic inquiry and scholarship.

Position: Family Studies & Social Work: Clinical Faculty
Duties: clinical faculty position with a focus on child development to teach courses that enroll students majoring in family studies and social work, as well as students from diverse majors offered throughout the university; and provide service to the department, division, and university.
Require: Masters degree in family studies, social work, health, developmental psychology, education, or a related field by time of the appointment; knowledge of or experience with multicultural populations; evidence of superior teaching ability in child development and/or family studies courses.
Desire: Ph.D. in family studies, social work, health, developmental psychology, education, or a related field by time of the appointment; experience with linguistically diverse learners and/or international experience; skills to incorporate technology in teaching; previous university teaching; and eligibility/willingness to obtain CFLE designation.

Require: earned doctorate by date of apointment with an emphasis on educational administration or leadership; excellent teaching skills; established record or promise of research and scholarship; demonstrated professional involvement in social service or educational fields; knowledge of multicultural education, or background in working with diverse student populations in P-12 and/or higher education.

Position: Assistant Professor in School Psychology
Duties: Expected duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, serving on theses committees, conducting research, and service to the department, university and profession.
Required Qualifications: The candidate must have an earned doctorate by August 2010 from an APA and/or NASP approved doctoral training program in school psychology and have expertise with RtI and a tiered model of service delivery. Candidates must have knowledge of multicultural education or background in working with diverse student populations in P-12 education.
Desired Qualifications: Desired qualifications include three or more years of practice in the field as a school psychologist; work with linguistically diverse learners, ESL/TESOL experience, or international experience/focus.
