Vita

Dr. Dickey received her Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from The Ohio State University in 1999. Currently she teaches course in educational technology for the Instructional Design and Technology program as well as teaching game design and 3D modeling and animation for the Interactive Media Studies program at Miami University.

Dr. Dickey's research interests include the design of interactive and game-based learning environments. Specifically her work investigates how various techniques, conventions, and elements in popular computer and video games impact cognition and how these elements can be integrated into instructional design. As an instructional designer, she has developed Web-based interactive learning environments. Recently she developed a 3D interactive game-based learning environment to foster argumentation writing skills.
