Examining Social Justice Across Multiple Educational Landscapes

10th Annual Graduate Student Conference

Department of Educational Leadership

Saturday, February 20, 2010 / McGuffey Hall

We invite you to participate in the Tenth Annual Graduate Student Conference on Social Justice in Education held at Miami University on Saturday, February 20, 2010. This conference is part of Miami University’s Department of Educational Leadership Initiative that seeks to illuminate the intersection of leadership, culture, equality, and schooling and its potential to transform schooling. Our goal is to bring together a diverse group of graduate students, faculty, and policy makers who are engaged in thinking about issues in educational leadership. The format of the presentations may vary from formal paper presentations to small group or panel discussions.

The broad theme of this year’s conference is “What Is Social Justice in Education, really? Examining Social Justice Across Multiple Educational Landscapes.” We understand this focus to include a wide spectrum of educational topics including a critical analysis of these two terms, education and social justice, and how they should inform educational leadership and schooling. Proposals are due by January 1, 2010.
