Robin Purdy, who graduated from Miami University in December 2008, won first place and a $600 award in the post-secondary category of a podcast competition sponsored by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
Students nationwide created podcast videos highlighting the benefits of learning a new language.
Purdy, a linguistics major, produced her podcast video, titled “Priceless,” as part of a foreign language teaching methods class (EDT 333) taught by Martha E. Castañeda, assistant professor of teacher education.
It won top honors in both the popular vote and the judges categories.
