Digital Learning Lounge:
Students and professors have a new place on campus to collaborate and explore how technology can transform teaching and learning.
The Digital Learning Lounge (DLL), located at 214 McGuffey Hall, includes state-of-the-art multimedia software and hardware, a small group meeting space, and a podcasting room.
It is designed to be a place where both novices and those alrady adept at using technology will feel comfortable. The goal is to create an environment that encourages collaboration and informal learning so that Miami students will master not just technological skills, but how technology can be used to actively create knowledge.
What's offered:
• Facilities for video conferencing, interactive learning, and meetings. Flexible small group meeting areas offer versatility for any gathering or technology project.
• Microphones, camcorders, scanners, science probes, and the latest in computer equipment will support podcasting and other multimedia activites.
• TeamSpot software allows students and professors to work together on special projects.
•A staff member with technological expertise provides help and advice to students and faculty seeking to learn about new software or equipment.
