Athletic Training Program |

The Athletic Training Program at Miami University leads to the Bachelor of Science of Education degree and is an accredited curriculum by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Athletic Training (JRC-AT). The JRC is comprised of Certified Athletic Trainers from the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and members from the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Family Physicians and the Academy of Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) recognizes the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) as an accrediting agency. The Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Athletic Training (JRC-AT) serves as the accreditation review committee for athletic training educational programs. The Athletic Training Program has been accredited by CAAHEP since 1998 and by the NATA's Professional Education Committee (PEC) since 1980. Dietetic Program

The Dietetic Program has received Developmental Accreditation by Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) The American Dietetic Association (ADA). The program has completed the self-study and site visit for initial accreditation. The outcome will be known in October, 2004. Initial Accreditation will be for ten years. School Nursing Program

The School Nursing Program is a post-baccalaureate licensure program offered by the Department of Nursing and the School of Education. In pursuing a license, candidates must first obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then go on to complete post-baccalaureate work to obtain the license which is granted by the State of Ohio. Miami University's Department of Nursing BSN program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (MLNAC) and has received continuing accreditation since 1981. School Psychology Program

The School Psychology Program is a graduate program. Candidates must first earn a Masters of Science in School Psychology. Upon completion of an internship and defense of their thesis, candidates earn an Education Specialist degree and can apply for licensure to work in K-12 schools. The Social Work Program is an undergraduate program in the Department of Family Studies and Social Work. It is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work

Speech Pathology and Audiology Program

Licensure as a speech and hearing pathologist is achieved at the graduate level once students complete a four-year undergraduate program and a master's program. The Speech Pathology and Audiology Program is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
