How to apply

Admission requirements:

To be eligible for consideration you must have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Completed an undergraduate degree in education with a minimum 2.75 grade-point-average.
  • Possess a professional teacher licensure.
  • Two years of teaching experience.

Application process:

Follow the procedures outlined for continuing non-degree graduate status students.

*Students who have obtained the degree from Miami need not submit a transcript.

Select “continuing non-degree status” when completing the application.

Financial aidfaculty

  • TEAM Scholarship for Ohio educators. The TEAM Scholarship at Miami provides a 50 percent tuition and fee scholarship to professional educators for graduate course work. Go here for more information.

Program Requirements

CIPD licensure requires a master’s in education. Students can take CIPD licensure courses as part of their master’s or doctoral studies in the Department of Educational Leadership.

Required courses for CIPD licensure (18 hours):

  • EDL 639: Curriculum Theory and Program Development
  • EDL 645: Supervision of Teaching
  • EDL 646: Curriculum Development for Instruction
  • EDL 711: Internship in Curriculum Planning and Supervision
  • EDL 780.S: Staff Development
  • EDP 614: Family-Community-School Partnerships

 

class

 

All EDL courses are offered once a week in the evening during the school year, and on alternative schedules during the summer. Students may complete this licensure program while working full time.
