There are two types of ear lobes: free, or
attached.
They look like this:

Free ear lobes is the dominant trait and attached ear lobes is the recessive trait. We will use a big "F" to represent the dominant trait and we will use a small "f" to represent the recessive trait.

trait inheritance from the Mendel page, match
