iDiscovery

The partnership project, iDiscovery, combines OSI-Discovery’s face-to-face professional development program with Project Dragonfly’s advanced web platform--making online learning communities a normal, value-added component of OSI-Discovery institutes.

The iDiscovery partnership provides an iDiscovery Technology Education Program for Discovery teachers, administrators and university faculty across Ohio. iDiscovery-trained educators co-teach as instructors/facilitators in graduate-credit, iDiscovery courses reaching more than 300 teachers during the 2002/2003 pilot year. iDiscovery teams will interact with each other after they meet in person and while teachers implement inquiry methods in the classroom.

The Dragonfly/Discovery partnership leveraged the best content, delivery, and teaching practices available, creating for Ohio an unparalleled, statewide professional development program that integrates face-to-face interactions with web-based learning communities. iDiscovery especially targets areas with underserved populations, including inner-city districts and rural Appalachia, where follow-through on face-to-face institutes can be difficult.
