Science and Mathematics Data Analysis (SAMDA)
The Science and Mathematics Data Analysis (SAMDA) program is offered to mathematics and science teachers, grades 1-6. In this program, participants will learn non-formula driven statistical techniques that help in teaching students how to handle class/lab-generated data. Hands-on and inquiry based activities will immerse participants in inquiry science and the use of statistical methodology. A few overarching goals of SAMDA are for participants to 1) deepen their science and mathematics content knowledge, while engaging in inquiry activities and experiments; and 2) learn methods of designing appropriate inquiry activities and methods of teaching those skills to students.
Required follow-up sessions will occur during the school year.
