Southwest Ohio Science Institutes (SOSI), Course 2
Southwest Ohio Science Institutes (SOSI) participants have the opportunity to earn at least 5 credit hours through Miami University (tuition and fees waived). Appropriate content and resources are used in each grade specific course for grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. All second year courses address the following SOSI goals: 1) Enhance science teacher understanding of and capacity to use the Ohio Science Academic Content Standards (OSACS), 2) Develop deeper science content knowledge instructional practices of participating science teachers, 3) Improve student achievement, and 4) Sustain programmatic changes at the school/district level.
Note: Course 1 completion is a required prerequisite for participation in Course 2.
Required follow-up sessions will occur during the school year.
