The Grade 5-6 Math Discovery Academy is a ten-day program offered to mathematics teachers grades 5-6. Six out of ten sessions will occur during the summer and participants will be offered the opportunity to attend four follow-up Saturday sessions during the school year. Benefits from this program will include 1) a deep understanding of Ohio content standards in mathematics; 2) strategies and models to ensure students are able to demonstrate an understanding the of the Ohio Academic Content Standards in mathematics; and 3) experience using best practice lessons for teaching mathematics in a middle school lab setting.
Required follow-up sessions will occur during the school year.
