Connecting Science and Mathematics
Connecting Science and Mathematics is an exclusive program offered to grades 7-12, mathematics and science teachers from Lima and Springfield city school districts. In this program, participants will concentrate on physical science Ohio Academy Content Standards and related mathematics Ohio Academic Content Standards, with a literacy connection. Program goals include 1) enhancing understanding of targeted science and mathematics content; 2) increasing use of inquiry-based teaching and learning practices; 3) investigating Ohio Resource Center resources appropriate for students; and 4) improving teacher understanding of ways to increase students' comprehension of science and mathematics literature.
Required follow-up sessions will occur during the school year.
