Sami Ackard is a freshman, with an undeclared major, from Powell, OH. Dancing for 10 years and trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and tap, she joined a competition company 5 years ago and has had the opportunity to work with many wonderful choreographers and dancers. She is very excited to continue her training with Dance Theatre.
Sammi Bowyer, a sophomore Speech Pathology and Audiology major from Middletown, OH, trained for 14 years at the Academy of Dance in Middletown. She had an amazing first year being a part of Dance Theatre and would like to thank all of the girls for making it so great!!! Sammi is the new publicity chair for the company and also a member of the Dance Repertory Group.
Katie Cheffins is a freshman Biochemistry major with a goal of one day becoming a dentist.  From Powell, OH, she has trained in ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, and hip hop and has been dancing and competing for many years.  Very happy to be a part of Dance Theatre and when not dancing she enjoys being with her family and friends and spending time outside!
Carolann Crittenden is a senior Marketing major from the suburbs of Chicago. Carolann has been on the staff of The Miami Student working on page layout as well as involvoing herself further with DT as a choreographer.
Caroline Faile is a junior Early Childhood Education major from Bay Village, OH. She grew up dancing in a local studio in Cleveland and feels fortunate to have pursued her passin with dance through Dance Theatre. On campus, she is also involved in Campus Crusade for Christ activities, a proud member of The National Society of Leadership and Succes, and the social sorority Zeta Tau Alpha.
Meghan Fanelli is a freshman Marketing major from Pittsburgh, PA. Dancing for fifteen years at local dance studios as well as with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, she is passionate about the art of dance and so excited to be an apprentice to the Dance Theatre Company.
Caroline Farris, a sophomore Fine Arts major from Knoxville, TN, loved her first year at Miami. She enjoyed putting a lot of time and energy into Dance Theatre and is now the secretary of the company as well as choreographing dance for the December concert.
Jenny Hughes-Wilson has a master's degree in social work, works full-time, and lives in Oxford with her husband, a Miami grad student. She attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts (dance) and Birmingham-Southern College (psychology and dance), and is grateful to be dancing again after a four year hiatus. This is her first semester with Dance Theatre.
Arielle Johnson is a junior Health Studies and Health Education major from St. Charles, IL. Arielle has been dancing for many years and is always excited to perform! In addition to DT, Arielle enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being a member of Alpha Phi.
Eunjin Lee is a sophomore Theatre major from Seoul, Korea. She started to train in ballet at the age of 6 and is now so excited to spend time as an apprentice member of Dance Theatre and train other forms of dance. She is also a member of Collegiate Chorale.
Alexis Marina is a senior from Youngstown, OH majoring in Strategic Communication and minoring in Italian. She is so grateful that Dance Theatre has given her the opportunity to continue her passion of dance throughout her college career. Primarily trained in ballet and modern, she is appreciative for DT opening up many other worlds of dance for her. When she isn't in Phillips Hall, Alexis loves spending time with her family and friends and always enjoys a good laugh. Alexis is the DT Vice President.
Maria Montag, a senior Studio Art major focusing on Painting and Printmaking, grew up in Loveland, OH with her 4 siblings. Maria has been dancing for 16 years and enjoys the DT ladies and spending time outdoors when she is not doing schoolwork. Maria spent part of the summer in Kenya.
Abby Morris is a junior Zoology major from Amherst, OH who joined the company last Spring semester. She would like to thank the DT members for making her feel welcomed and loved in the most amazing group on campus
Abby Petrasko is a junior Accounting major and International Business minor hailing from Concord, OH. Trained at Ballet Arts Academy, she then performed with Great Lakes Festival Ballet under Richard Dickinson. She is so excited she joined Dance Theatre and could continue her passion while at Miami. Abby has recently had the opportunity to study in Luxembourg and is looking forward to all the experiences this year will bring!
Bridgette Rawlins is a transfer sophomore from Zanesville, OH, majoring in Clinical Laboratory Science. She received most of her dance training from BalletMet Columbus and Virginia School of the Arts. Besides dancing, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, and House TV marathons. She is very excited for her first year with Dance Theatre!
Lauren Schaeffer is a senior Mass Communications major with minors in History and European Areas Studies from Perrysburg, OH. She studied at Miami's Luxembourg campus Fall 2008 and upon her return she choreographed her first piece for Dance Theatre surrounding the theme of toxic relationships. Also a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, she enjoys volunteering in the community.
Rebecca Talda, a sophomore Early Childhood Education major from Dayton, OH, trained for 8 years with South Dayton School of Dance and South Dayton Dance Theater in mostly ballet and modern, as well as one year with Dayton Ballet. While dancing with SDDT she had the opportunity to work with several well-known choreographers and dancers, as well as attending some summer dance intensives including American Ballet Theater and the Joffery Midwest Workshop. She is so excited to be a part of Dance Theatre this year!
Ali Tanker, a senior Interdisciplinary Studies major focusing in Social Entrepreneurship, began her dance journey 13 years ago in Cleveland, OH and has embraced several genres of dance, choreography and experiences along the way. She enjoys the thrill of performing, the reward of choreographing and the dance outreach she has been able to do with Dance Theatre and the Dance Repertory Group. Ali spent part of the summer in Guatemala.
Caitlyn Thomas is a sophomore from Canton, OH who started dancing at the age of 3 at the Canton Ballet. She is majoring in Exercise Science and hopes to someday be a physical therapist working with dancers.
Aimi Toyama, a senior from Union, KY, majoring in Microbiology and Clinical Laboratory Science and minoring in Molecular Biology, loves all the time spent with Dance Theatre, dancing at rehearsals, classes, and especially at the elementary schools (with the Dance Repertory group). Aimi is treasurer of Dance Theatre and is choreographing a work for the December concert.
Hauna Viox is a junior Art Education/Studio major from Cincinnati, OH. As well as being apart of Dance Theatre, she's actively involved in National Art Education Association and Adopt a School. She has been dancing since the age of five and her passion for dance has only grown stronger with Dance Theatre. When she's not in the dance studio, she enjoys shopping, spending time with friends, and any outdoor activities.
Lisa Walsh is a senior Economics and History major and French minor from Dayton, OH. The President of Dance Theatre and a member of the Dance Repertory Group, she trained in classical ballet with the Dayton Ballet before coming to Miami but enjoys all forms of dance. She is excited for her senior year and the great year the company has in store.
Cassie Wilson has a master’s degree in exercise physiology, works full time as Miami University’s Employee Health & Well-Being Program Coordinator, and lives in Hamilton, OH. She is classically trained in ballet, but enjoys learning and performing any style of dance. She has been a member of Dance Theatre since January 2008.
Lauren Yaeger, a freshman Athletic Training major, studied dance at Adams School of Dance in O’Fallon and Belleville IL, and also danced competitively for ten years, giving her the opportunity to work with world-renowned choreographers and dancers. Besides dance, Lauren enjoys music and pizza nights with her friends, and cannot wait to see what kind of season lies ahead for DT!
Jenny Yonkof is a sophomore majoring in Microbiology with hopes of attending medical school for pediatric oncology. From Perrysburg, OH, she loves her time spent with Dance Theatre. When not dancing, Jenny enjoys advocating cancer research on the committee of Miami's On Campus for Cancer Awareness and learning about the medical profession as the Secretary of the American Medical Student. She is definately the DT fashionistra!
