Sami Ackard is a junior Psychology major with a Spanish minor from Powell, OH. She has trained in multipledance styles: ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, tap, and contemporary. As part of a competition company in high school, she had the opportunity to work with many wonderful choreographers and compete nationally as a soloist and in a group. When not dancing, Sami enjoys baking, drawing, reading and instructing ZUMBA® classes. The secretary for the Company, she is eager to see what this year holds for Dance Theatre! She is choreographing this semester.
Kristin Bell, a sophomore Marketing major from Westerville, OH, has loved the art of dance since age 3. She was a part of her high school dance team, assuming the role of captain for two years and a member of a pre-professional company at her studio. When not dancing, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She is very excited to be a part of the Executive Board as Publicity Chair this year.
Sammi Bowyer, a senior Speech Pathology and Audiology major from Middletown, OH, has studied classical ballet, modern, tap, character, and jazz for 15 years.  Sammi is very excited for her fourth year in Dance Theatre, which has become an integral part of her college experience, and looks forward to many more great DT memories, this the last semester of her senior year.
Mallory Chen, a freshman Marketing major, is continuing her love for dance with DT. From Cleveland, OH, Mallory has danced since the age of 3, studying ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip hop, and acrobatics. She competed with the Keithe Williams Performing Arts Academy where she discovered her passion for lyrical dancing. Aside from dancing, Mallory loves dabbling in rock climbing, gymnastics, and music. She also enjoys vegetating occasionally andiis ecstatic to be a part of DT.

Jaime Coaker, a sophomore Theatre major and Entrepreneurship minor from Chicago, IL, has trained in praise dancing, jazz, ballet, lyrical, pom, and hip hop. Dancing for 10 years, she was captain of her high school city and state championship Pom Squad team, was a bird girl/lead dancer in Suessical the Mussical, and dance captain in Miami's The Wiz.  Thrilled to be a member of DT; she enjoys the hard work, but she is prepared to put in 100% of her time, effort, determination, and enthusiasm.

Samantha Coman (Sam), a freshman from Lewis Center, OH, is currently undecided on a major. She has been dancing for 16 years, 13 as a competitive dancer at her mother's studio, NorthPointe Dance Academy. She has studied most dance forms, with her favorites being tap and contemporary. When she isn't dancing, Sam loves to read and sing. Sam is so excited to be a part of Dance Theatre because it means she gets to meet new people and continue dancing through college!
Caroline Farris, a senior Fine Arts major from Knoxville, TN, enjoys putting a lot of time into Dance Theatre.  She is eager to contribute new avenues for the company to explore in her role as DT President.  A member of DT since her first year at Miami, Dance Theatre has exceeded her expectations of a dance company at a University with no dance major or minor, and she feels blessed to be involved with such a group. Caroline is choreograping this semester and once again merging her love of dance and the visusal arts within the choreography.
Kelly Godfray, a sophomore from Camarillo, CA, is excited to begin her second year with Dance Theatre. Only dancing for five years, it did not take her long to realize dance was her passion. She was fortunate to train with many amazing dancers and choreographers at Bobbie's School of Performing Arts in California, studying jazz, ballet, contemporary, modern, and hip-hop. Kelly is glad she found an opportunity to keep up with her dance training through Dance Theatre and is looking forward to all the amazing opportuities it has to offer.
Ashley Hamway, a sophomore Speech Pathology major from Toledo, OH, trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical while growing up. In high school she joined her dance team, and was captain her senior year. She is very excited to continue dancing in college through Dance Theatre.
Alex Hinton, a sophomore from Chester, NJ., trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, and hip-hop at the Art of Dance in NJ, where she worked with several choreographers in and out of New York City. She is incredibly excited to be in Dance Theatre to work with a wonderful group of girls and grow as a dancer.  Alex is choreographing this semester.
Marie Hirko is a sophomore Exercise Science and Pre-med major from Pittsburgh, PA. Dancing since the age of 3, she trained in most styles, but has a sparked interest in tap. Competing since the age of 7, most recently under Studio 19 Dance Complex, Marie has been tapping in NYC under Break the Floor Productions since she was very young, performing yearly in their off-Broadway shows. Captain of her high school dance team, she also participated in the musicals. She is very excited to be a part of DT and hopes it will prepare her for her dream of becoming a Radio City Rockette.
Erika Ilc, a junior from Cleveland OH danced competitively for ten years at Spotlight Dance Center, has had the opportunity to train with many well known dancers and choreographers. Through dancing she has traveled to places including London, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Orlando. When not dancing, she loves to shop, travel, and hang out with friends and family. Erica studied in Lux last semester.
Carly Kennell, a sophomore from West Chester, OH, is majoring in Chemistry. Dancing for 17 years, she trained in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, and lyrical. Carly performed many times with her former studio and has taken summer intensives with the Atlanta and Cincinnati Ballet Companies. When not dancing, she enjoys spending time with family and friends; she is very excited to be a part of Dance Theatre.
Gwendoline Caniceiro Miranda (Gwendy), born in Luxembourg of Portuguese parents, has lived there her entire life. She began dancing at 8 with ballet, but added modern and jazz by the time she was 12. Her education was at a school for musicians and dancers and the exams at the end of each year would place the students levels. Her senior year of high school Gwendy began performing with a small dance company and she spent her first year in college in France studying literature. Transferring to Miami as a sophomore, she auditioned for DT this semester and now is so happy to continue her dancing at Miami. She also loves to read, listen to music and going for long walks.
Elaina Ostrow, a sophomore Architecture major from Beavercreek, OH, began ballet at four and has loved it ever since, but also enjoys other types of dance. She danced for six years at Pontecorvo Ballet Studios in Dayton and was a company member of Gem City Ballet for five years. Elaina had the opportunity to perform pieces by George Balanchine and other great choreographers and attended a summer intensive with American Ballet Theatre. She is very excited to continue her participation in Dance Theatre. 
Bridgette Rawlins, a senior from Zanesville, OH, majoring in Clinical Laboratory Science, received most of her dance training at BalletMet Columbus and Virginia School of the Arts. Besides dancing, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, and House TV marathons. She is very excited for her third year with Dance Theatre were she serves on the Executive Board as vice president.
Lauren Rooney, a sophomore Political Science and Sustainability Co-major from Park Ridge, IL, has danced since the age of 3 in most dance styles. A member of her high school’s dance team, she competed nationally in high kick and jazz. Also a UDA instructor during the summer before attending Miami, she continues to teach and coach. Lauren is very excited to continue her passion and is looking forward to the years ahead as a member of Dance Theatre.
Danielle Sadler, a freshman from Fishers, IN, danced competitively for 11 years at G. Scotten Talent Center where she was trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop. Danielle was also a member of Tremaine National Dance Company and traveled across the United States to assist and work with many well-known professional choreographers from LA and New York. Very excited to be a part of DT, she can’t wait to grow not only as a dancer, but a person as well.
Danielle Salomon, a sophomore Finance major from Bellevue, WA, danced competitively for ten years at Backstage Dance Studio and enjoyed the many experiences and opportunities brought forth through dance. Trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop, she has been fortunate to take class from many well-known dancers and choreographers. The company treasurer, Danielle is very excited to perform with DT and looks forward to continue expanding her appreciation of dance through it. 
Jessica Saponaro, a sophomore Special Education major from Dublin, OH, has danced since age three and her love for dance and performing has grown continuously. She studied in California and participated in competition dance for five years. After moving to Ohio, Jessica joined a studio company where she worked with many well- known dancers and choreographers. When not dancing, she loves hanging out with family and friends and being at the beach. Excited to be a part of Dance Theatre, she looks forward to the new friends and experiences the Company provides.
Taylor Sieve, a freshman from Lewis Center, OH, is currently a math education major. Dancing since she was 3, she started competitive dance at the age of 8. She grew up studying all styles of dance at North Pointe Dance Academy. When Taylor isn’t dancing she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, listening to music and being outside. She is so excited to be apart of Miami’s Dance Theatre to continue her training and to meet new people!
Rebecca Talda, a senior Early Childhood Education major from Dayton, OH, trained with South Dayton Dance Theater and The Dayton Ballet. She danced principal roles while at SDDT both in modern and ballet pieces including the role of Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker and appeared in The Dayton Ballet’s production of Peter Pan. Rebecca has danced and worked with well known dance professionals including Gregory Robinson, John Rodriquez, Christopher Fleming, Dermot Burke and members of the DCDC. Becca did her sudent teachng last semester, and is now in the job search mode.
Nina Vrbancic, a freshman from Cincinnati, OH, is a Finance major who loves math and photo shop. Her hobbies include baking and spending time with her golden retriever. She trained at Ballet Tech Ohio for most of her ballet career, and had the privilege of dancing in New York City at the School of American Ballet. She was also awarded one of the top finalists of the Youth American Grand Prix in Chicago. Nina is very passionate about her dancing and can’t wait to dance this season.
Cassie Wilson has a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, works full time as Miami University’s Assistant Director of the Employee Health & Well-Being Program, teaches Yoga at the Rec Center, and lives in Hamilton, OH with her husband Roscoe, a faculty member in the Art Department and her baby daughter Finley.  She is classically trained in ballet, but enjoys learning and performing any style of dance. She has been a member of Dance Theatre since January 2008.
