Writing Centers and Tutors

Miami’s five student writing centers offer one-on-one assistance with writing projects as well as other help for students desiring to extend their expertise as writers.

Bernard J. Rinella Jr. Learning Center

• For all Miami students: 23 Campus Avenue Building.
• Drop-in Monday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday 9:00am to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday Noon to 4:00 p.m. and Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Center for the Study of Writing

• The Center for the Study of Writing is a group of graduate students and faculty from several departments committed to research in composition and to improve the quality of writing instruction.
• Members exchange ideas, plan composition-related activities and projects, and collaborate on grant proposals.
• The center supports graduate student research and professional involvement, sponsors writing conferences and workshops, and invites speakers to campus.

Hamilton Writing Center

• For students at the Hamilton Campus: 102 Rentschler Hall.
• By Appointment Only: Three ways to make an appointment: Call 785-3139; drop by the Center Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; or log into TutorTrack at http://www.ham.muohio.edu/learningassistance (you must schedule a minimum of 48 hours in advance).

Howe Writing Initiative

• For students enrolled in courses at the Richard T. Farmer School of Business Administration: 204 Laws Hall.
• Drop-ins welcome.
• Appointments are available. Call 529-8296 or stop by the Center during drop-in hours.

Middletown Reading and Writing Lab

• For students at the Middletown Campus: 104 Johnston Hall.
• Drop in Monday through Thursday 10 AM to 7 PM or Fridays 10 AM to 2 PM.
• Appointments are available. Stop by the Center Monday through Thursday 8 AM to 7 PM or Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.
  

Windate Writing Center
