Quality and Effective Practice Registry

OMHNSS Logo

Welcome to the Quality and Effective Practice Registry.  The Quality and Effective Practice (QEP) Action Team of the Ohio Mental Health Network for School Success is working to identify successful strategies and programs for meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of students.  To achieve that goal, the QEP team is working to create an Effective Practice Registry for the state of Ohio. This registry highlights schools and school-mental health partnerships that are demonstrating effective implementation of a program or strategy that is successfully addressing an academic and/or social-emotional need of students in their community. Information concerning the highlighted programs on the registry includes detailed information about the program, the resources necessary for successful implementation (financial resources, personnel resources, materials), and data to support the program’s success. In addition, the registry highlights successes in partnership development.  One important goal of the Effective Practice Registry is to provide examples of effective practices in a local context. The information provided by schools on the registry can help to inform others in the state of Ohio about how they are being effective within their local community. Thus, rather than simply highlighting an “evidence-based program,” this registry seeks to acknowledge success and inform others about “making the program work in context.”

Selection Process

Ohio schools and community agencies complete an application to be part of the Registry.  All applications are reviewed by three members of the Ohio Mental Health Network for School Success.  Programs are rated on the following evaluation criteria:

Programs, practices and strategies that meet the minimum criteria in the above categories complete a site visit interview with three members of the OMHNSS.  The site visit teams consist of one University Partner, one Network Lead and one parent representative.  Additional information is gathered during these interviews and final decisions for inclusion on the Registry are made by the QEP Action Team.

Please click on a program, practice or strategy below to learn more about how communities in Ohio are successfully meeting the needs of their youth and families.
