Dr. Julie S. Rubin has a half time appointment in the Department of Psychology at Miami University where she is Director of the Psychology Training Clinic. She also supervises doctoral students in the School Based Mental Health Program and teaches classes in diagnosis, assessment, school consultation and autism. She serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. In addition, she has an active private practice where she specializes in diagnosis, assessment, school consultation and educational programming for children with developmental disorders. She has a Bachelors Degree in Special Education from Miami University and a Masters degree and Ph.D. from the University of Texas in Austin. She completed her internship in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of North Carolina where she worked in the TEACCH program. Following her internship, she was on the staff of the Medical School at UNC, working in the Clinical Center for Study of Development and Learning. She directed the Augmentative Communications Team there and saw children with a wide range of developmental disorders. In addition, she consulted to a number of group homes for residents with autism and mental retardation.
