Luke Sandro
Luke Sandro teaches high school biology at Springboro High School in Ohio. He has collaborated with Dr. Lee several times in the past, including helping to write the educational outreach portion of the grant proposal for this trip.

2005-06 Expedition
Marianne Kaput
After earning a liberal arts degree and pursuing a successful career in business, Marianne Kaput fulfilled her lifelong dream and is currently teaching 6th grade math and science at Troy Intermediate School in Ohio. Much of her educational research has focused on the specific learning needs of girls and of students with special needs. She is an active participant in various environmental education projects and professional organizations. Marianne is happily married to her husband Tom of 24 years and has 2 daughters who are currently attending college. She is a competitive rower and an avid outdoors enthusiast.

Giancarlo Lopez-Martinez
Giancarlo Lopez-Martinez is a Ph.D. student in Dr. Denlinger's lab at The Ohio State University. He works on the diapause (dormancy) of the apple maggot, a major pest of homegrown apples in Ohio. His research interests include insect hormones and how insects survive the cold. He also worked on house dust mites and their non-chemical control for his master's thesis.

2006-07 Expedition
Glen Schulte
Glen Schulte has been a high school science teacher since he graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1986. Since 1996, he has been teaching at the Cincinnati Zoo Academy, where juniors and seniors take intense college preparatory classes and spend two hours every day working with the keepers at the Zoo. Since 1997, he has taught a summer course in Miami University's MAT program called Using Animals in the Classroom.
