| Research Interests: My research interests are in the evolutionary adaptations of animals to different ecological niches. By using an integrative approach via comparative biology, the study of adaptation can yield interesting and important insights into how organisms have evolved at both the genetic and proteomic level. One model system of particular interest to me is the vertebrate eye. More specifically, I am interested in the adaptational biology of the eye lens proteins (crystallins) in different ectothermic animal species. |
