Surface Design in Textile Collages

Textile art increasingly incorporates the unlimited potential of mixed media for unique surfaces and content. In this course, surface design techniques like painting, thread and bead embroidery, and photographic imagery are just a few techniques students incorporate into artwork, in addition to hand quilting, appliqué, shrink art for unique embellishments, principles of design composition, and presentation of textile art. The course focuses on working with students so they can individually employ the materials to create their own individual work.
