Methods of Intaglio Printmaking
This class introduces students to traditional techniques of engraving, dry point and mezzotint printed in the intaglio manner. They will learn the history as well as methods of each medium. Prints will be completed in all types of media covered. Intaglio printing techniques on various kinds of paper will be explored.
Ed Montogmery received his MFA in printmaking from the University of Tennessee. His passion has been drawing investigated through the print media of etching, copperplate engraving, and lithography. In addition to teaching drawing he developed a printmaking program at Miami University. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and his images remain in the permanent collections of the U.S. Library of Congress, the Pratt Institute Graphics Center and the Bristol-Meyers Collection.
