LOOK ALIVE! : Illustrating Mother Goose

From HEY, DIDDLE, DIDDLE to LITTLE BOY BLUE, students will plan, sketch and create illustrations for a collaborative e-book of Mother Goose rhymes. Each student will receive a rhyme and will create art for the rhyme, using visual clues to link it to the following rhyme/spread. This will create a unified world of rhymes and narrative art, plus a visual challenge for the eventual reader.

Will Hillenbrand is a celebrated author and illustrator whose published works include over fifty books for young readers. In addition to his own self-illustrated titles, he has illustrated the works of writers and re-tellers including Verna Aardema, Judy Sierra, Margery Cuyler, Judith St. George, Phyllis Root, Jane Yolen, Karma Wilson, Maureen Wright and Jane Hillenbrand.
