Advanced Watercolor: Developing a Personal Style in Watercolor

Let watercolor work for you. Demonstrations and exercises will cover basic transparent watercolor technique. Color mixing, gradated washes, wet-in-wet, layered washes, and painting strategy will be studied through a variety of projects. A starter kit of paint, palettes, and handmade paper will be supplied. Work from still life and landscape will be included.

Fred Gutzeit, MA from Hunter College (CUNY), has lived and exhibited in New York City since the 60s and was a visiting artist at the Cleveland Institute of Art for two year. He has conducted special watercolor workshops at the Brooklyn Museum and taught painting in art schools in New York and France. His work has been included in hundreds of exhibitions. He is currently teaching at Pratt Institute and City College. Gallery
