Marbling - A Spectrum of Color and Design

Marbling is an amazing hydro-printing process as well as an instantly gratifying technique. Explore marbling’s beauty, magic and elegance by floating paints on thickened water, make patterns, and then print the final image. Literally captured color in motion! Focus on paper marbling with a brief introduction to marbling on fabric. With stacks of gorgeous paper to choose from, make origami boxes and simple books in class and later uses for calligraphy, scrapbooking, wrapping, and collage.

A full time studio artist and workshop leader for twenty-two years, Mimi Schleicher is an exhibiting member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, Piedmont Craftsmen Inc., and Carolina Designer Craftsmen. Mimi specializes in designs commissioned for commercial reproduction and has co-authored Marbling Paper and Fabric (1991), Marbled Designs (1993) and a one hour video workshop: “Experience the Magic of Marbling” (1994).
