Introduction to Precious Metal Clay

This introductory course on metal clay will cover materials, tools, basic shaping, dry carving, possibilities for texture, syringe use, stone setting, hollow-forms, and methods for firing and finishing. Students will gain a strong knowledge base of this new millennial metal. This is a project specific class which is designed to allow the student to experience a broad spectrum of techniques, yet let the individual artistic spirit guide the design. Graduate challenges will be presented and encouraged.
