Glass Blowing

This class will provide ample hands-on experience to familiarize students with the safety processes, tools, techniques and equipment of glass blowing. Hot shop safety and proper form are stressed from the beginning. Participants will learn the processes and “movements” required to make offhand style soft glass blown art. This will include gathering, tooling and blowing of hot glass.
Noted requirements: The anticipated materials fee in this workshop is approximately $200. Students should be in good physical condition, since participation will involve some physical output and sweating. Must not be sensitive to heat or strong light. Good hand-eye skill required.
