Faces & Places: An Art Quilt
This workshop will be primarily a figurative class, although we welcome you to use other subject matter. The instructor encourages you to come to the class willing to explore. You will make several mini-quilts to try out different techniques and then work with these to create one or more larger quilts. The focus of these quilts will also be about "story-telling". Class discussions will expand your level of confidence in working in an intuitive manner.
Cathy Jeffers is a graduate in Art Education from Miami University. She has been an art teacher for over thirty years, teaching art to both children and adults. She has a background in ceramics, sculpture and weaving and believes both color and texture is important in her work. Cathy's quilts can be seen nationally and internationally in galleries and museums and just recently in Quilt National 2009. Gallery
