Beginning Drawing
This course is an introduction to the visual language of drawing, particularly in using value to accurately describe the effects of light on objects. Though the primary thrust of the course is an investigation of light and value manipulation, emphasis is also placed on learning to see by stressing strategies that better develop rendering ability through direct observation. Each class will include hands-on drawings that heighten your ability to accurately create the illusion of three-dimensional forms in space on a two-dimensional picture plane.
