Book Arts Sampler

Incorporate beautiful papers and sample traditional, oriental, and innovative formats to create intimate vessels known as books! Techniques include using traditional sewing over supports for the text of a soft cover book and employing paper patterns and colored linen thread to create visual interest on the spine of other vessels. Discover how folding pages in unique ways can move your vessel into space, and closures pace the revelation of content. You’ll leave this workshop, seeded with numerous aesthetic ideas and knowledge of papers, techniques, and history of books.
