Beginning Techniques in Metal Clay

All the basics will be covered in this workshop. Students learn how to successfully work in silver, bronze and copper clay. Students will learn to create with dimension, implant stones and other materials, create hollow forms, torch and kiln-fire and explore a variety of finishing techniques. Projects will be presented daily but students are free and encouraged to express individual ideas.

Ginger Seiple began working with Precious Metal Clay in its early days and was in the first PMC certification class. She has been teaching workshops in Ohio and the midwest since 1998. In 2000, she took 2nd place nationally in the "First PMC Challenge." She started the first state chapter (Ohio) of the National Guild in 2002, now split into three different chapters. In 2004 she was commissioned to design and create a Presidential Ceremonial Medallion for Hiram College, replacing one that had been used for the last 100 years. To date she has published eight how-to PMC articles.  Gallery
