Beginning Ceramics and Throwing
This is your basic crash course in clay, intended for those with little to no experience, or those wishing to refresh their skills with clay. With an eye on functional work we will cover two different building techniques: the potter's wheel and slab building with demonstrations on a variety of forms, styles and ideas from simple to advanced. The firing process, some innovative and simplified low-fire finishing techniques using slips, stains and glazes will be covered. This class intends to take you from mud to mug in one short week, covering all the steps in between.
