Exploring the Art Quilt
Come to this workshop with ideas for creating several art quilts. Students will implement many techniques through daily demonstrations, including machine quilting, appliqué, couching, binding, and making fabric. Learn techniques with various machine needles, threads, and yarn. The initial review of color and design principles will be used throughout the week. This class is fun! There is a lot of sharing and camaraderie in the learning! Students will have several small works and be progressing on their own contemporary art quilt. Sudents must have working knowledge of their machine and attachments.
Joan Rigal is a workshop leader, full time artist and quiltmaker from Waterville OH. Her work is shown nationally and in private collections. Her art quilts were shown on PBS “America Quilts Creatively” in 2007. Gallery
