General Info
What is CraftSummer?
CraftSummer is a series of hands-on craft and art related workshops taught at Miami University by local, regional, and nationally known artists. Classes are offered in a variety of media, and if taken for credit, offer 1.5 semester credit hours of undergraduate or graduate credit for a 5-day workshop. Weekend workshops offer 1 credit hour. All workshops may also be taken for non-credit.
When is CraftSummer?
The landscape photo workshop to Zion National Park will be held during a special session, May 12-18, 2008. All other workshops will be held during Miami University's Summer Term II: June 13 - July 11, 2008.
Who may attend CraftSummer?
Anyone eighteen years old or older with a high school diploma or its equivalent may register.
What time do classes meet?
Our 5-day classes meet from 8:30-5:00, Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 am until 2 pm on Friday. Studios are open evenings and students are encouraged to use that time to develop skills and complete assignments.
Weekend workshops meet Friday from 6 - 9 pm, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm on Saturday, and 8:30 am - 3:30 pm on Sunday.
Our Mission:
The CraftSummer workshop program is designed to strengthen creativity, develop personal expression, and provide a sense of community among people interested in art, design and the crafts. It is a chance to meet with others who have the same interests but who have different approaches in specific techniques and forms of expression.
