After earning a bachelor’s in English and writing, Ms. Brunk continued school to earn dual Master’s degree and teaching licensure.
Peter Carels
Dr. Peter Carels, Miami University faculty 1971-2006, has been drumming since 1990. He is the founding director of the Oxford Gourd and Drum Ensemble and has been teaching students of all ages since 1997. He has attended intensive drumming workshops in Brazil, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, France, and USA.
Dennis Cook
Dennis Cook is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Shaolin-Do Kung Fu. He has been a student of the art for over 27 years and a teacher for 24 years.
Kari Cooper
Ms. Cooper earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Miami in 2003. Currently, she is working toward her master’s degree in Education and is a teacher for the Talawanda School District.
Tony Finnell
Tony Finnell has 15 years experience training dogs. Mr. Finnell has worked with the SPCA training rescued and aggressive dogs, and provided training to military and police personnel for canine protection, drug detection, and all forms of basic obedience skills.

Mrs. Kelly received her Master’s in Education from Xavier University and is currently a special education teacher at Kramer Elementary.
Christina Koslow
Ms. Koslow is a recent graduate of Miami with a degree in Music Education. She traveled to India last summer where she studied Karnatic music, worked with students, and recorded for a Bollywood film.
Megan Kuykendoll
Megan Kuykendoll graduated from Miami University in 2007 with a BA in Spanish and a minor in Latin American Studies. She currently is the Latino Community Coordinator at Miami.
Nicole LeFevre
Nicole LeFevre is an Integrated Social Studies Major who has a minor in Political Science. She fascinated with how our world is influenced by technology and the media and one of her favorite hobbies is politics.
Karen Powers
Karen Powers is an Intervention Specialist who has taught for the past 11 years. She began her career at Bevis Elementary, where she taught seven years in both regular and special education settings. She has been employed for the last four years at Talawanda High School as an Intervention Specialist.
Jenna Rahrig
Jenna Rahrig teaches Art in the Ross Local Schools at Morgan Elementary. She has also taught for the past two summers at The Center for the Arts, Wyoming.
Ryan Steffen
Ryan Steffen is an English and Drama teacher at Talawanda High School. He is also the Director of the Oxford Youth Theater.
Christina Teed
Christina is a graduate of Miami University. Christina graduated with a degree in English Education and a degree in Theatre. She loves being able to combine two of her strongest passions: education and theatre.
Amy Thomsen
Mrs. Thomsen is a teacher at Ross Middle School. She has a bachelor’s of science degree in Language Arts, Science, and a Reading Endorsement for 4-9 grades. She also has a Master’s in Elementary Education and is certified to teach Special Education. She has taught Crime Scene Science to her 6th grade students for 2 years at the end of each school year.
