Lance Cummings (Ph.D. Candidate) received the Spiro Peterson Award for excellence in scholarship from the English Department

Aurora Matzke (Ph.D. December 2011) accepted a position as Assistant Professor of English and Writing Program Co-Director at Biola University in California.
Bre Garrett (PhD candidate) has accepted a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of English and Director of Composition at the University of West Florida.
Michele Simmons has been elected to serve as Vice President for the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing.
Kate Ronald has been named the College of Arts and Science Distinguished Educator of 2011.

Since 1981 we at Miami have had the pleasure of collaborating with hundreds of graduate students to promote diverse and equitable scholarly inquiry, professional development, and pedagogical creativity. Advantages of graduate study at Miami include:
