Human Subjects Research:  

To comply with federal regulations and Miami policies, research involving human subjects requires that researchers be familiar with the ethical issues common to such work. In addition to the required online training, all human subjects research must be reviewed and the methods approved by an Institutional Review Board.

Institutional Review Board for the Use of Human Subjects in Research (IRB): In accordance with federal guidelines, the IRB is charged with review of all research involving human subjects at Miami. Each member of the institutional Review Board is appointed by the President of the University for a three year term.
