or Amendment
|

| The
Miami Animal Care and Use Committee must review and
approve changes to any previously approved and active
protocol that would or could:
- increase distress among
the animals (e.g. a significant change in care);
- expose the subjects to interventions
not described in the approved protocol (e.g. a new
procedure or experiment);
- effect risk to the subjects
(e.g. new personnel that will be unsupervised when
interacting with subjects);
- increase the number of animals
used by >20%
- involve a change from or
an addition to the approved taxa.
|
| The
completed form must contain an adequate amount of information
for the reviewers to evaluate your request. If you are
adding or replacing a species, a literature review should
support that change. If you are increasing or decreasing
the number of subjects, sample size should be re-evaluated
using power analysis with the revised numbers. Contact
the IACUC chair or IACUC Administrator to discuss the
requirements for other types of protocol modifications. |
